We have some positive news to share from South Africa regarding COVID developments, which have just been approved by the government:
✓ If a person has had contact with a COVID-positive case but doesn’t show any symptoms, that person is no longer required to self-isolate.
✓ Positive COVID cases, who do not show symptoms, do not need to isolate any longer and have freedom of movement.
✓ The isolation period for positive COVID cases with symptoms or symptomatic close contacts has been reduced from 10 to 7 days.
A reminder of other COVID conditions in South Africa:
✓ There is no curfew and the population has complete freedom of movement.
✓ No quarantine on arrival.
✓ Travellers must show a negative PCR test on arrival taken not less than 72 hours before departure.
