Next Thursday, June 22, EC Montreal will hold a charity fundraiser for the Montreal Refugee Centre located in the building. Abdulla Daoud is the executive director of the refugee centre. He has already proven to be a wonderful friend and neighbor to EC Montreal!
The refugee centre is helping its refugee population adapt to their new environment by providing them with university preparation courses and economics workshops on starting a business.
The fundraiser will include a bake sale, a raffle, games and carnival foods! Students from Souha and Valerie’s class prepared a magazine that will be sold at the event! They will set up a booth and sell autograph copies of their magazine.
We are so proud to live in a country that has opened its doors and hearts to refugees around the world and want to do everything possible to make them feel welcome and at home here in Montreal! The message we want to send is they are now safe and we are here to help!
On Wednesday, June 21, Abdulla will give a presentation to our students on the centre’s initiatives.
