Memorial Day: A United States Holiday

The students taking English Language courses in the U.S. may not know what Memorial Day is, or why they don’t have school!

Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States. A federal holiday means it is recognized by the United States Government, and offices are closed.

The United States celebrates Memorial Day to remember the people who died while serving in the countries armed forces.  This holiday is observed every year on the last Monday in May.

This holiday is also known to mark the start of Summer!

How can you celebrate Memorial Day? There are a few ways!

1. Attend a parade

– There is a parade in Fulton on Saturday, May 28th at 10:00am. Located at 609 West Broadway Street!

2. Decorate with Flags

3. Wear Red, White, or Blue!
