What is there to do this weekend?

Campus is becoming much more busy with all of the students coming back for the Fall semester!

That means there are a lot more activities to do on campus!

This weekend all the students return, so we hope our students learning English for Academic Purposes attend some of these events to meet new people!


Friday, August 26

The Great New York State Fair!

Where: New York State Fairgrounds (you can take the bus from downtown!)

When: August 25-September 5 everyday 10:00am-10:00pm

What: Entertainment, food, beverages, music, games, etc!


Men’s Soccer vs. Elmira (scrimmage)

Where: Laker Turf Stadium

When: 4:00pm-6:00pm

What: Go cheer on the Oswego Men’s soccer team!



Opening Picnic

Where: Academic Quad

When: 5:00pm-7:00pm

What: Picnic for all incoming students!


Welcoming Torchlight Ceremony

Where: Arena and Convocation Hall, Marano Campus Center

When: 8:30pm-9:30pm

What: Incoming freshman and transfers are welcomed to into the SUNY Oswego community with the symbolic passing of the Torch of Learning.


Post Torchlight Ceremony

Where: Marano Campus Center arena

When: 9:30pm-12:15am

What: Arcade and video games, food, music, giveaways, etc!



Saturday, August 27

Nailing Your First Semester

Where: Marano Campus Center auditorium, Room 132

When: 1:00pm-2:00pm

What: Learn skills and tips that can help start your academic career!


Project Play 2016

Where: Lee Hall

When: 2:00pm-4:00pm

What: Opening weekend competition between each residence hall in basketball, dodgeball, kickball, and an obstacle course!


Women’s Soccer Scrimmage vs. Utica

Where: Laker Turf Stadium

When: 6:00pm-8:00pm

What: Cheer on the Oswego Women’s soccer team!


Get Hypnotized with Jason Christopher

Where: Marano Campus Center auditorium, Room 132

When: 8:00pm-9:00pm

What: A very popular hypnotist show during orientation week!


SAPB Presents: A Fun Extravaganza

Where: Marano Campus Center auditorium, Room 132

When: 9:30pm-11:30pm

What: An evening of food, fun, and inflatables provided by the Student Association Programming Board


Sunday, August 28

Port City Co-Op Outdoor Market

Where: 137 W 2nd Street

When: 9:00am-2:00pm

What: Outdoor market filled with antiques, collectibles, and household goods
