Love is in the air – Valentine’s Day at EC

Sharing is caring!

The Valentine’s Day, also known as the Feast of Saint Valentine, is celebrated on the 14th of February and originates from a celebration of a saint named Valentinus. A popular story of Saint Valentine of Rome claims that he was imprisoned for performing marriages for soldiers, who were forbidden to marry. In addition to this reason for imprisonment, he served mass to Christians, who were persecuted under the Roman Empire. According to legend, while he was in prison, he healed the daughter of his jailer. Before his execution, he wrote her a letter signed “Your Valentine”.

However, apart from these historical speculations of the origins of this holiday, EC is going to celebrate this event with a lovely EC Special Dinner at Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver on Friday, 13th of February, one day before the official date of the Valentine’s Day. A five-course dinner will be offered as well as one beverage such as soft drink, beer or wine (depending of your age) for only $30 including taxes and tips.

If you are interested in joining the EC Special Valentine’s Day Dinner, please sign up at the front desk as soon as possible and pay right away to save a spot. We are looking forward to a romantic dinner at Olive & Anchor!

PS: If you want to enjoy your Valentine’s Day to the fullest, make sure you check out the 5th Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival as the 14th of February is the last day of the festival.
