EC Washington students visit World’s Biggest Library!

Flashback Friday: A Trip to The World’s Biggest Library

The Library of Congress, located in the heart of Washington, DC is not only the largest library in the United States, but the largest library in the entire world- woah! Last week, our EC Washington English Center students toured the LoC, and received a personalized tour by one of longest standing teachers, who just happens to be a D.C. history buff. We asked students what they thought of the experience, and Maisa from Brazil said the following:

“EC’s teacher responsible for the visit to the Library of the Congress, Cecilia,  has provided us with one of the most amazing experiences in DC. The visit was amazing, and she showed us not only the current structures, but the history about the library and the main pieces of the building. Also, she helped us get [library] cards, which grants access to the library’s readings rooms.”

Students from (left to right) Algeria, Ethiopia, two from Brazil + her husband and child, and Algeria again. Cecilia in the front with glasses!

Since this trip was such a success, we are planning to make it a part of EC Washington English Center‘s regularly scheduled activities afternoon activities. Thank you to everyone who participated and made it special. Cheers!
