Take a look at the following ten sentences and choose the correct missing verb. This exercise is good for High Intermediate English students.

quiz

Without mistakes. It was highly entertaining activity. I had to think of the past form of the verb "bite" to answer for the second question. Smile

It's a rather interesting excercise imho. I know that bee stings, but I guessed that mosquito bites Smile

Strange

Everything is correct, but some words I guessed and some I didn't understand. Worried
Why do we whisper in the library( sometimes it annoys) and
why was the child knocked( not hit and crashed) - ?

Hi Yura

We should whisper in the library just to keep silence. Some other people may read their books (sometimes those books are very thick and old), and people might be annoyed if some guys begin to talk out load.

Do you remember those green tables and lamps in the public library? I remember them very well, and any little noise was forbidden. Unfortunately I have not been to the public library for about 5 years, may be even more.

The car knocks over a person, this is just a standard way of saying that. And a car hits another car, it is not so sad situation.

Just remember, that in Russian also not all of the verbs are allowed to describe the accident.
