common mistake

Some of the mistakes are usually commited by us.
Thank You very much. But, I have a doubt on why
shouldn't we say that Russia is the largest country
of the wirld instead of'in the world'

RE: In

Think of it this way, 'There are many countries in the world. Russia is the largest.' We don't don't say,'There are many countries of the world.' It's the same as saying. 'Moscow is in Russia'. We don't say, 'Moscow is of Russia'.

Explain, please

Thank you for the Lesson, very useful. Smile But I don't understand the sentence:
It's getting to summer.
What does it mean? -We are going to have summer soon. -? Worried
Explain, please.

Thanks for the lesson. I

Thanks for the lesson. I thought that 'We ran for one hour and a half' would be correct. I don't understand a meaning of 'It's getting to summer'. And I didn't know that after 'except' 'for' must be used.

RE: Common Mistakes

'We ran for one hour and a half' is almost correct. You need to add an, 'We ran for one an hour and a half'.

'It's getting to summer', means the season is changing from spring to summer'.

So, now it's getting to

So, now it's getting to winter, isn't it? Smile

omathans for lesson i make

omathans for lesson i make four mistakes but i really understood every sentences.

Thank you!

Thank you for the lesson. It wasn't very difficult, but interesting!!! I'm working as a teacher of English and I can say that pupils make grammar mistakes (tenses and the degrees of comparison). In my opinion such exercises are more important for those who learn English, because you have to find the mistake, that is more difficult than to say the right answer.
But honestly speaking I've never heard "Russia is the largest country OF the world" from my students. May be this is so because we live in Russia... Confused

Nevertheless THANKS!!!

Chris, I'd like to do more such lessons. Angel

thanks Chris

your explanation on "in the world" is
very clear.I'll follow with ease in future.
Thanks
