Hi Snoopy,
I like your phrase.
Nothing special strikes me except:
I'm on the road (or on the track).
or perhaps
I'm beating the track or hitting the road?. But I am not sure about this. Is there anybody who nows something better?
Natalia
I've never heard 'on wheels' for driving. I agree that 'on the road' is a better choice.

i would like to add that i have heard the phrase "I am at the wheels". this means I am driving.
I can confirm that the correct form, according to my dictionary, is
"At the wheel"
Example sentence: Don't speak to the man at or behind the wheel!
More about wheels:To take the wheel and To go on wheels
i)She asked me to take the wheel because she felt tired
ii)To go on wheels means: to obtain success
