a needle in a haystack

Hi I would like this phrase is correct.

My friend have a rare book. If he lost it, it will be trying to find a needle in a haystack to find another one.

Try this:

My friend has a rare book. If he loses it, finding another one will be like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
