Thousands of people suffering from peanut _1_ could be saved from possible fatal allergic reactions thanks to a new therapy started by British doctors.

The new trial follows a small experiment which showed that allergic children were able to tolerate small daily doses of peanut protein mixed in their food. By eating increasing the amounts of peanut protein every day children were able to train their _6_ to tolerate nuts.
By the end of the trial, more than half could eat 10 peanuts without falling ill and 84% could eat five.
