Student Visas

Thousands of international students at a popular London university have had their study visas _1_ and have just 60 days to find a new course or leave the country.

London Metropolitan university was _2_ by the UK Border Agency who stated that most of its international students were not complying with their regulations. They claimed that the students were not _3_ classes and did not have a sufficient level of English for the courses they were supposedly studying.

Although these claims are serious, the excessive step of revoking all international student visas for the school has been met with _4_. Those students who came to the UK for legitimate purposes have been left in a very difficult situation which may well affect them _5_ as well as academically. Across the country, people are worried that those from other countries may stop wanting to come to the UK as immigration has become so difficult. There were a lot of concerns raised about the huge amount of time it took people to enter the country before the Olympics and immigration services in the UK are starting to get a very bad _6_ .

Higher education for international students in the UK gives the country’s economy a _7_ of approximately 12.5bn per year. Can we really afford to lose this, as well as our good relations with other nations?
