Simple Adverbs

Adverbs describe the way an action is completed and are commonly thought of as 'y' words.

For example, the adverb form of the adjective loud is loudly.

How well can you remember them? In each sentence, replace the adjective with the correct adverb (and be careful with your spelling):

  • 6. You need to act more (professional) , you’re not at school anymore.
  • 7. I can (hard) believe that it happened.
  • 8. You don’t need to throw the ball so (angry) . It’s just a game!
  • 9. She (wise) decided to wait until the baby was older before she started her company.
  • 10. The boat rocked (gentle) as we made our way to freedom.
