sufi

sufi

"The Sufi is thus the perfect initiate, the yogi of the Hindu tradition, the being who has succeeded in climbing back up the arc of divine manifestation and who "reached god"."
The third part of sentences contains 'the being........'. What does mean the 'being'?

"One thus distinguishes the 'sufi',the realized man, from the 'mutasawwif"the aspirant who still undergoes the tribulations of the path and who makes an effort through spiritual discipline to reach the state of Sufi."
I think the last part starts with 'from the mutasawif..........." is indicating to 'mutasawif'. Am I right?

"During the first centuries of Islam Shayks seldom called themselves 'Sufis',so much did this word presuppose the existence of extra ordinary qualities."
what is meant by 'so much did'. Can you give me some example of some sentences using 'so much did'?
