The residence is a large, double storey Victorian house that has been redesigned for student accommodation. The rooms are bright and airy and all have ensuite bathroom, except for 3 of them which share a bathroom. There is a fully-equipped shared kitchen, which includes 2 gas cookers, fridges, freezer, kettle, toaster and microwave. The downstairs dining/lounge area is the perfect place to relax, watch TV, and socialise with the other students in the house. There is a breath-taking view of Table Mountain from the upstairs balcony, which is the ideal setting for a long, slow drink after a hard day of studying.

 The residence is situated in a vibrant residential area at the foot of Lion's Head. From the balcony there are stunning views of Table Mountain and the "city bowl area", as it is known. New Church Street Residence is exactly 2km from the EC Cape Town school, which takes 25-30 minutes to walk, or less than 10 minutes on the MyCiti bus route. It is only a 10-minute walk to the famous Long Street, which is home to a huge variety of trendy restaurants, bars, cafes and shops.  It is also close to the city centre, public transport and supermarkets, all with an easy 5 minutes walk.
