Visiting Malta - Reading and Vocabulary

Average: 3.3 (6 votes)

Something a little different for you today, we have a guest writer! Today's exercise was written by my sister about her time here in Malta.

Hi! My name is Freya, I'm 20 years old and I’m at university in Essex, England.  This Summer I was lucky enough to spend 3 months in Malta; working and spending time with my family.

There are so many great things about Malta but one of my favourites is the weather.  Every morning you can wake up, throw on a pair of shorts and _1_ without a care in the world.  Being such a small island you can be at a beach within minutes and _2_ you’re into relaxing on the sand or _3_ enough to try your hand at water sports, Malta has it all.

Another _4_ thing about Malta is the _5_.  It is a unique blend of Mediterranean and North African tastes so there’s always something for everyone.

Everyone in Malta speaks English and that really helps when you’re trying to get _6_.  Maltese people are so friendly and always happy to tell you about the _7_ history and culture.

I'll be back next year for sure. Maybe I’ll see you there!

Thanks, sister! Now put the words into the correct spaces to complete the sentences. Type a, b, c, d, e, f and g into the spaces below.

a – cuisine
b – head out
c – brave
d – fantastic
e - whether
f  - around
g - local
